When I first read A Simple Path to Wealth by JL Collins, I was ready to invest in VTSAX and build my future. The advice was simple: low-cost index funds, consistency, and let compounding work.
But when I looked deeper into what was actually inside VTSAX (and other index funds), I found war, alcohol, exploitation, excess debt, and destruction. That wasn’t something I could ignore.
I tried halal funds, but they came with high expense ratios. Then I discovered M1 Finance and realized I could build my own Pie with zero fees.
